Presenting Your Demo

The Big Idea: Provide an update on your team's game topic. What is the most important concept you want your players to learn? I want my player to learn that we can't waste trees.  

Making Decisions as a Team: How did your team's ideas about the game topic change over time? I was thinking about doing recycling, but I've seen games like that and I wanted mine to be original. 

Roles & Responsibilities: Tell us more about your team process. Please each talk about your specific roles, and how you work together. I’m the only one in my group so I did all the drawing, coding, answering questions, and blogging on my own but with the help of classmates and teacher. 

Research: What kind of research went into your game topic? What did you learn about your topic? What message do you want the player to understand? Well I didn't know a whole lot about my topic which is what made it interesting to me. I want the player to understand why it is important to save trees. 

The User Experience: Explain the actions players take in your game. How do you play it? What decisions were made about features to include, and how did you decide? The player has to use the keyboard controls to move a squirrel around a maze and plant trees by answering math questions. I didn't have to decide a lot of things because I'n on my own.

Mastering Flash: What Flash resources have been most helpful in your learning so far, and why? How did you locate these resources? I think the flash videos have been helpful during the process of my game because it shows me step by step how to do things.

Overcoming Challenges: What curriculum topic has been most difficult for you so far? How did you overcome this difficulty? What programming features are you most proud of in your game? I think that the most difficult thing was my maze scene. I had to convert each line to a symbol and put a hit test for each line.

My Globaloria Game Story

Okay listen up boys and girls. We have a special story prepared for you. It is a true story and it's called Theresa's Globaloria Story written by Theresa. Once upon a time in a magical fairy princess land, a girl in the seventh grade named Theresa was in a class called Globaloria. That is a class where you make a game on the computer. The end of the year was approaching and she was almost done with  her game. But one day an evil leperchaun snuck into the school and deleted her game. The next day she went onto the computer to work on her game, but it wasn't there! She searched every file but she had no luck finding it. She then came to the conclusion that an evil leperchaun from Leperchaun Land had stolen her game and hid it on Jupiter. So to this very day Theresa's Globaloria game is on Jupiter with slimy alien babies slobbering all over it. The End!

Animals

There are a lot of different types of animals. There are aardvark, addax, alligator, alpaca. anteater, antelope, aoudad, ape, armadillo, bat, bear, beaver, bobcat, Brontosaurus, buffalo, bull, butterfly, camel, cat, cougar, cow, coyote, crane, deer, dog, dolphin, dove, dragon.......I will finish this later.

Jimmy, Jeffrey, Jessie

This blog will be colored! If you read the title which is up there ^ you will see that it says Jimmy, Jeffrey, Jessie. Those are my three favorite names. Here are some facts about those names. They all start with "J", they all have letters, and they're names!! I'm leaving now. BYE!!!!!!!

The Interrupting Bell



*Based on a true story*   Okay so the day for my game demo video finally came. I went through it all without dying (surprisingly)! But it turns out my back was turned to the camera the whole time, so I decided to redo my video the next day. *One day later*It is time to redo my video. I did not stutter on my words like I did the first time, I was facing the camera, and I did really good. By the time I was finished the camera spazzed out and didn't save the video. So when everyone else was finished I had to do my video again.In the middle of it the bell rang and completely ruined it. So now everyone is going to hear a bell when they watch it. The End

There are different sizes of cakes. Big cakes, medium cakes, and small cakes. Here are two or three kinds. chocolate cake, butter cake, strawberry short cake, cheesecake, ice cream cake, carrot cake, pineapple upside down cake, red velvet cake, pound cake, angel food cake, sponge cake, vanilla cake, German chocolate cake, lemon cake, gingerbread cake, cookie cake, mooncake, coffee cake, cupcake, fruit cake, Devil's food cake, and black forest cake. My favorite one is either coffee cake or cheesecake. What's yours?

Savannah Bluberry

My favorite candy are Dum-dum lolipops. My favorite flavor is mango. There is a flavor called Savannah Bluberry. It was named after some girl Savannah because she won a contest. I don't think I've ever tasted it.

Stop Lookin At Me Swan

Swans are my favorite animals. I like them because "swan" is a weird word STOP LOOKIN AT ME SWAN and they always look at me (like the one beside this blog).

Changing the Cursor II

I FINALLY GOT THE CURSOR TO CHANGE!!!!!!!! Apparently the code was wrong, but I eventually got it. I will add the flash file soon.

Florida





When I was in Florida we went to Sea World. We saw two killer whale shows, a sea lion & otter show, a dolphin show. The next day we went to our hotel. It had four pools and one hot tub. We went to the pool the pool with the water slide.









Flash

Flash can be easy or really complicated. Some assignments require you to put codes in and play with a bunch of buttons until you get it right, and some asignments you just have put in one thing and your done.I still don't know what some of the buttons do.

Adding Input II: Mouse

Adding Input II:Mouse wasn't really that difficult because we use a code to make you click and drag an item on your game. I like using that code because it's not hard to make it work.

Adding Sound

I thought Adding Sound was fun because I liked the recording. It was also an easy assignment, and We hadn't had one in a while. In my game, the sound is in the "You Lost" button.

Interview

The interview thing was really long. It took up two class periods. He asked me questions about myself and about my game concept.

Adding Buttons

Adding Buttons was pretty easy because all you do is change the color of the word on the button.

Adding A Scene

Adding A Scene was kind of difficult because of the coding and how to attach the other scene.After some of my friends helped me with it I got it right.

Changing the Cursor I

Changing the cursor for my game is really hard. I put the code in the right way, but it still didn't work and I can't figure out why. I am not stopping until I get it right! I will post another blog when I get it right! So stay tuned until then!

New Years

I am glad it is a new year because I just want it to be, and that means school is almost over. On the day after New Years Day I went to a party.

Christmas Break

My Christmas break was good. The best thing I got was a PS3 with the games Grand Torismo 5, NBA 2K11, and Call of Duty: Black Ops. We didn't have any family come over, but it was still a good Christmas.
